All over the world people with a mental illness are having their rights violated by both Governments and society as a whole. In some countries the violations are very severe and others are not so severe. Never the less consumer's rights are being violated. Even in the so called civilized countries. Even in my own country (Canada) our rights are being violated although not so severe as in the rest of the world.
For the purpose of this web site I will be doing research on human rights violations all over the world and posting the information on this site. I will also be discussing what rights that mental health consumers are supposed to have. According to human rights documents drafted by the United Nations and individual countries we are supposed to have all the same rights as the rest of society.
